Our next Decorative Art and Design sale is being held on the 10th of September 2013 at 10:00am at our Stansted Mountfitchet Auction Rooms. The catalogue for this sale is not yet available.

20th Century Art and Design is currently one of the most active areas of the art market.  Sworders conduct two specialist auctions a year in January and September and these have quickly become an established part of the UK auction calendar.   We offer many different categories within the sale: British Art Pottery, Moorcroft, Clarice Cliff, Art Deco Ceramics and Modern Studio Ceramics, Lalique, Gallé, Bronzes, Silver, Jewellery.  We also sell good quality British Arts & Crafts Furniture, Art Deco Furniture and Mid-Century Modern Works and Pictures.

Highlights include: a large William de Morgan charger - sold for £14,000; a Martin Bros grotesque tobacco jar and cover - sold for £26,000; a Barbara Hepworth sculpture 'Two Rotating Forms II' - sold for £250,000.

The sales contain items for all budgets with estimates ranging from £50 to £100,000.  The saleroom is well placed for London and East Anglia and has gained a reputation for excellent results for our vendors.  One of the keys to the success of the sale is access to the worldwide marketplace via online bidding through the-saleroom.com.
