Five lots of basket hilted swords total £8,900 hammer price. The five lots of swords from a single owner collection all flew well above the top estimate with strong bidding on the telephones and in the room. The top lot, pictured here, was a rare 17th Century Scottish basket-hilted back sword, which fetched £2,550.
