LITTLE BENTLEY HALL WATERWAYS AND GARDEN SHOW
Sworders incorporating Olivers are pleased to have been asked to hold a Valuation Weekend for various charities at
the Little Bentley Hall Waterways and Garden Show on the 2nd and 3rd June 2007. This is East Anglia's largest
Charity Garden Show.
Please click here for more details of the Show.
The name of Olivers has been known in the auctioneering profession in Sudbury since 1766 when Joseph and William
Oliver set up business as Auctioneers and Appraisers in Market Hill.
In 1780 the firm sold furniture belonging to Richard Gardiner (Gainsborough's brother-in-law) and in 1784 furniture
for Mrs.Mary Gibbon (Gainsborough's sister).
On 16th January 1792 at the Coffee House, Sudbury, William Oliver sold Gainsborough's House for ?350.
Sworders joined forces with Olivers at the beginning of January 2006 and the new arrangement enables us to offer
vendors in Suffolk all the services currently available at our Stansted Mountfitchet Auction Rooms and through our
office in Hertford.
