Managing Partner and Auctioneer at Sworders with more than 25 years experience in the Fine Art and auction
profession. His interests lie with English furniture and the Arts & Crafts Movement. He is available to
undertake valuations of single items or entire collections.
Tim Turner MRICS
Tim is an auctioneer and valuer with more than 20 years experience in the antiques and auction profession. He has
been with Sworders for 15 years and is available to undertake valuations of individual items or collections for
auction purposes both in Essex and further afield.
John Black BA (Hons)
John, an associate, has a degree in art history augmented by a one year course at Christies, and 6 years
experience in leading provincial auction rooms. His interests lie in 20th Century design.
Richard Harrison BA (Hons) MRICS - Hertfordshire Representative
Richard is a valuer with 6 years rostrum and valuation experience. His expertise lies with English and European
porcelain and furniture. He has 12 years experience in the antique and auction profession.
Frank Barnett - Saleroom Manager
Despite not looking old enough, Frank Barnett has twenty years' experience in all aspects of the auction world
as Operations and Saleroom Manager to Phillips and Bonhams, specialising in mechanical music.

A partner with more than 40 years experience in the property industry, Robert runs our Independent Chartered
Surveyor Service providing professional advice to purchasers, sellers and professionals.
John Foster - Militaria
John Foster, a partner has 10 years rostrum and valuation experience and specialist knowledge in the fields of
furniture, militate, sporting memorabilia and works of art.
John Wetherall FRICS
John has been a partner with G E Sworder & Sons for 36 years and is a member of the RICS Fine Art Faculty.
Consultants
David Battie - Ceramics
David Battie is a specialist in ceramics and oriental works of art. He joined Sotheby's in 1965 as a book porter,
was later appointed a Director of the company and retired in 1999. He is now a consultant and writer having
written and edited numerous books and articles. His appearances on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow go back to the
first programme in 1979.
Catriona Smith - Jewellery
Catriona has been in the jewellery trade for over twenty years, she initially trained in a traditional family
jewellery business in Hertfordshire. For the past fifteen years she has worked for the crown jewellers, Mappin
and Webb, where she is a Registered Valuer.
Andrew Bowyer - Pictures
Well known and respected in the field of picture valuation, Andrew's field of expertise ranges from Old Master
sketches to 20th Century abstract works. He runs his own consultancy El in the South of England, lecturing and
offering advice on a wide range of pictures.
Anita Anderson - Silver
Anita Anderson first became interested in silver at the tender age of fifteen when shown a wonderful collection
of Hester Bateman silver by a friend. She later trained with top dealers S J Shrubsole Ltd followed by eight years
as a senior valuer with Phillips Auctioneers in London. Fourteen years ago she established her own business
advising private and corporate clients on the acquisition and management of silver collections. Her clients
include The Salters Company for whom she has collaborated in the publication of a book celebrating their
collection 'Treasures At Salter's Hall'. Anita is also a regular contributor to The BBC's 'Antiques Roadshow'.
