Sworders are delighted to read a recent article in The Times newspaper last week, titled Flatpacks shelved for the joys of brown furniture.

Within the article Antiques Trade Gazette's editor Noelle McElhatton emphasised the value of antique over flat-pack.

"If you can get a Georgian chest of drawers for £100-150, beautifully made and wonderful to look at, in light and dark woods, why would you spend two hours assemling an Ikea version which is more expensive, not built to last and is destined to end up in landfill?" said Noelle.

If readers of this article would like to buy affordable brown furniture keep an eye on Sworders fortnightly Homes & Antiques sales.
