An Italian gold micromosaic beetle brooch, c.1870, the beetle with goldstone abdomen, rub set to a plain collet and circular border with rows of twisted wire, to plain pin and 'C' catch, tested as approximately 18ct gold, with Papal mitre and cross keys mark, for Rome, the 'C' tested as approximately 9ct gold and the pin as metal, 40mm diameter, 16.55g

Some tessarae deficient.
Small areas of tarnish and damage to wire border.
Micromosaic plaque slightly loose in setting, though secure.
Some surface scratches/marks/dings and areas of damage to reverse.
