A 19th century gold dip pen or quill pen,
with a plain polished barrel. Three cast griffins to the end, holding a circular citrine tablet, intaglio engraved with a judge's full bottom wig and the motto 'J'espère'. Tested as approximately 9ct gold., 156mm long, 14.02g

Condition report
A chip to the gemstone end, from the setting edge to the edge of the wig.
Light surface marks commensurate with it's age.
Tarnish to the area above the nib.
