WW1 MARK VI 130 'NELSON' TANK BANK MODEL,
a rare articulated WWI folk 'trench' art hand-painted, wood model of the Mark VI 130 'Nelson' Trafalgar Square fundraising tank, with string hand pulley for moving the two guns - this model was probably made in late 1917 or early 1918, lot includes a postcard, stereocard and London News magazine cover

'Tank Banks' was the name given to a World War I fundraising campaign by the British Government. Six Mark VI make tanks toured towns and cities of England, Scotland and Wales, the primary purpose of the campaign being to promote the sale of government war bonds and war savings certificates.

Very good condition for age.
Some very slight discolouration to edges.
Cut line on left edge.

Stereocard:
Very good condition for age.
No obvious faults.

Postcard:
Slight wear to edges and corners.
Discolouration to card on reverse of image.
Small scratch to front.

IN PERSON

If you cannot attend the auction in person we can bid on your behalf. You can leave an absentee bid on our website.

The amount you bid should be your maximum bid. We will bid up to that limit for you, and remember you may end up paying less than your limit, depending on other bidding on the day.

You can leave an absentee bid up to half an hour before the start of any sale. Please note when we receive two or more absentee bids for the same amount, the first bid received will be the one taken.

Once our team have entered your bid request you will receive an email confirmation. We will contact you during the sale and one of our team will bid live with you over the phone.

Please note that we normally offer this service for lots with an estimate of £500 or higher and all telephone bid requests must be received by close of business the day before the auction.
