An early Victorian gold amethyst rivière and brooch pendant drop, c.1840,
the rivière composed of a series of graduated oval mixed cut amethysts, all claw set to shallow collets with single and trefoil bead cluster decoration to a concealed box, clasp and pendant eyelet. The cruciform brooch/pendant composed of circular mixed cut and pear cut amethysts, claw set to shallow collets with matching bead decoration. Oval jump ring top, plain brooch pin and 'C' catch. Tested as approximately, 15ct gold. Necklace 425mm long, brooch 60 x 55mm, 58.11g

Condition report
Would benefit from a light clean.
At some time in the past it has been acid tested on the underside of the box clasp. A darker stain but no file marks.
Clasp secure.
Oval jump ring open to the brooch/pendant.
No damage to the gemstones.
