Estimate: £2,500 - £3,500
“Tillmans established a reputation as an observer of social movements in the early 1990s with his seemingly natural snapshot-like portraits taken around the London club and gay scenes. He has the ability to capture such raw energy in all of his work, whether shooting still life, portraits or scenes that address major political issues. It feels as though you are seeing the subject matter exactly as he would have seen it. I feel a deep connection with his intimate observations of the world around him”.
Ranging Estimates: £400-1,800
“The Connor Brothers have achieved huge commercial success through their creation of a truly signature art form. They modify classic book covers, like Mills and Boon romance novels and Penguin Classics, rewording the titles to achieve tongue-in-cheek results. I just love the simple humour behind their work. There’s nothing abstract here. What you see is what you get. I have always felt a connection with the written word so works that combine text and images always appeal to me”.
Estimate: £7,000 - £9,000
“Gerhard Richter is undoubtedly one of the most influential living visual artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, known for abstract as well as photorealistic paintings, prints and glass works. This piece reminds me of a volcanic eruption. It’s just so imposing. Richter specifically wanted the print to be framed in two panels like this. Given the right space and setting, you can fully appreciate its depth”.
