Kathryn has spent her entire career in the jewellery industry, beginning straight out of university in the antique silver department at Garrard & Co, where, spending most of her days in and around the major auction houses of the West End, she developed a lifelong appreciation for high jewellery design and exquisite gemstones.
Whilst studying gemmology at evening classes, Kathryn worked in antique jewellery retail before moving into manufacturing; employed as a stone buyer and later in production management where she has spent the last 15 years working closely with designers and workshops in the development and creation of collections for fine jewellery houses.
Gaining Registered Valuer status in 2009 Kathryn has provided insurance valuations for private client collections, retail jewellery stock holding and diamond investment funds.
Throughout her career she has worked to promote the craft and skills within the jewellery industry, championing the apprentice scheme with spells lecturing at the Goldsmiths Centre. In recognition of this she has recently been recognised with Freedom of the Goldsmith Company and Freedom of the City of London.
