Established in 1782 in a coffee shop in North Street, Bishops Stortford by local auctioneer Peter Ramsey, Sworders has become one of the country's most respected regional auction rooms, serving Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, North London and beyond.

We are situated one mile north of Stansted Mountfitchet, in new award winning, environmentally friendly auction rooms, which offer extensive car parking and spacious 21st century auction room facilities.
We are conveniently located 3 miles north of Bishops Stortford, 4 miles from Junction 8 of the M11, 8 miles from Stansted Airport and ½ a mile from Stansted Mountfitchet where the mainline railway station links us to London Liverpool Street station in approximately 50 minutes. Excellent transport facilities also link us easily to our Hertford Office, Sudbury saleroom and East Anglia.
Due to the high number of fraudulent card transactions that we have experienced recently, we will no longer be accepting payment over the phone by credit or debit card. Payment can be made in person by credit or debit card. Payment will also be accepted by bank transfer or cheque. The cheque payment will have to clear before goods are released. Please be aware that cheque clearance will take eight days from deposit. We will only release goods to a third party upon receipt of identification and authority from the purchaser.
