1548 BIBLE [German], translated by Martin Luther

Biblia, das ist: die gantze heilige schrifft Deudsch auffs new zugericht. Wittenberg, Hans Lufft, 1548. PP: (x), 309, 349. With two title pages, both within borders and the first in red and black. Numerous wood engravings. Folio (33 x 21 cm), near contemporary blind stamped full vellum-like leather on wood, little rubbed and lacks the straps. The first title page with a piece at the bottom cut out (away from the text), and inner margin stuck to the upper cover; the occasional small stain or tear, on the whole a very good copy.
