Lot 49 (Jewellery and Silver, 21st November 2017)
A Victorian gold turquoise and diamond set snake or serpent necklace, c.1850,
with graduated interlocking links to a naturalistic head. The head grain set with lines of graduated circular turquoise cabochons with rose cut diamond set eyes to hand, engraved scrolling ground. The tail encircling the head with a turquoise set heart-shaped pendant drop to the mouth. Fitted case later relined. Tested as approximately 15ct gold. 405mm long, 27.47g, head 56 x 50mm

There was possibly an additional drop to the heart as there is a coiled wire loop at the reverse.
No obvious damage or previous repairs to the chain.
The box has been re lined (un-professionally).
