An Indian bronze figure of Buddha,
probably 10th century, seated in the lotus position holding tasselled beads in his right hand, on a stepped base cast with deer amongst scrolls and with seated lions at the corners, Ganesha to the reverse,, vestigial later gold lacquering,
Sold for £7,000
With slots for missing part behind Buddha.
Wear to surface, losses to gold lacquering and red paint. Item missing from left hand. Further parts missing from base.
