A Regency gold foiled topaz memorial brooch pendant
A Regency gold foiled topaz memorial brooch pendant,
an oval mixed cut foil backed topaz in a pie crust collet, set to the centre of a flower head with curled petals, the outer border comprising a series of foil backed pink topaz in pie crust collets, with repoussé clams in between. To 'C' catch and pin, and later milled wire bale. Early 19th century, with hair panel to reverse. Brooch tested as high carat gold, pin tested as approximately 9ct gold, 26mm x 30mm. 7.54g

The central topaz has acicular inclusions visible under 10x magnification.
A large chip to the crown facets of the central topaz.
Brooch pin bent.
Patina and wear commensurate with age.
