ETHIOPIAN DEVOTIONAL MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM: 150 Pages, including three full page hand drawn and coloured illustrations. Early Nineteenth century and written in classical Ethiopic. The edges of the pages have pinholes for the scribe to keep his lines straight. Bound with wooden boards and vellum spine. The pages measure 140 x 80mm, and there are between 17 and 21 lines to the page. Plus: A loosely inserted letter from the North Hertfordshire Museum in 1977, giving details, dating etc. and mentioning that it could be missing one illustration?
