A collection of East Asian fans
to include a straw example, shaped in the form of a lotus flower, decorated with beetle wings, red pom-poms and velvet fabric, further embellished with sequins applied to a painted stick,
two straw fans in the form of a heart, shaped with dyed straw decoration and red and yellow cotton bound handles that curve and taper at the ends,
an ebonised face guard with chinoiserie painted scenes and a stylised floral border, and
two others, possibly a native American example with woven threads and dyed feathers, and
a straw axe-shaped example,
together with a collection of children's/women's shoes from around the world,
to include:
a pair of slippers, embroidered with metallic thread and edged in red velvet, with leather soles,
a pair of snakeskin slippers with fur trim and leather soles,
a pair of Chinese embroidered silk shoes, and
a pair of leather shoes with polychrome threads, possibly native American (qty.)
This lot has been identified at the time of cataloguing as containing organic material subject to CITES legislation and the buyer should be aware that they may find restrictions regarding import or export.
