DW, Specially bound with five extra blank endpapers at the front, which have tipped FIVE SUPERB ORIGINAL DRAWINGS by the author, with a caption tipped underneath each: Title, where each was drawn, and the date. [Provenance: bought from Sotherans, 5 July, 1988: Item 271, for £525]; 2- SIGNED COPY + LETTER: Bird-Life of the Borders, records of Wild sport and Natural History on Moorland and sea. Gurney, 1889, 1st. Edn. Inscribed: 'Inscribed with pleasure & pride, this 4th October, 1928, to Thomas N. Welch by the Author, Abel Chapman'; Plus: a three-page autograph letter from the author to Mr. Welch on his 'Houxty' headed paper, regarding Salmon fishing, etc; 3- Memories of fourscore years less two 1851-1929. Gurney & Jackson, 1930, 1st. Edn. DW. VG; 4- First Lessons in the Art of Wildfowling. Horace Cox, 1896, 1st. Edn. With folding plates, adverts, etc PLUS: two autograph letters loosely inserted, from a Gunmaker, etc; 5- The Borders and Beyond: Arctic, Cheviot, Tropic. Gurney, 1924, 1st. Edn, fully illustrated; 6- Wild Spain, Records of Sport with Rifle, Rod and Gun, Natural History and Exploration. Gurney, 1893, 1st. edn. With a Map, plates & illustrations; 7- (Written with): Walter J Buck: Unexplored Spain. Arnold, 1910, 1st. Edn. Abel Chapman's own copy, with his Armorial bookplate. Inscribed with his name and 'ANNOTATED COPY' 1910 [BLANK PAGES AT END OF VOLUME], SIX pages full of his notes, up to 1921, Plus; a photograph, with the caption: 'Crossing Guadalquivir to Donana...' and with reviews pasted to the last page and pastedown, A VERY NICE & UNIQUE COPY.
