1997 Bentley Brooklands Hooper LPT

1997 Bentley Brooklands Hooper LPT
Registration Number: P90 JLB
Chassis Number: SCBZE20COVCH60083
Engine Number: 88469L410M/T1V

Introduced in 1992, the Bentley Brooklands was aimed to appeal to luxury car buyers who might not have had a Bentley on top of their shopping list. This new car was intended to carry the sporting associations of Bentley's finest days of the 'Bentley Boys' and the Brooklands racing circuit. The sporting connections were reflected not only in the name, but also in a new sports-style centre console gear selector, for the electronically controlled 4-speed automatic gearbox, designed to appeal to the more sporting driver. The Bentley Brooklands benefited from micro-computer technology which controlled areas including the suspension, instrument displays and air-conditioning. The last series, from 1996 onwards, was enhanced by the fitting of a Garrett light-pressure turbocharger (LPT) in order to further improve performance.

This particular example is a very high-specification car, with rare coachwork and an exceptional service history. The car covered just 50,083 miles at the time of cataloguing. It is fitted with the special-order smaller Hooper rear window and it is painted in special-order Viola Blue. The sumptuous interior is trimmed in red St James hide and the car is fitted with cherry red carpets and lambswool over rugs. The woodwork to the interior is bird's-eye maple and picnic tables are fitted.

Purchased new through world-renowned specialists, P&A Wood, there is an exceptional P&A Wood service history which accompanies the car in a large folder. In generally superb condition throughout, there are, however, some small blisters to the lower wing edges that will require attention. Taxed until the end of June 2012, the car is MoT tested to 9 January 2013.

Sold for £10,000
