Two Chinese embroideries,
late Qing dynasty, decorated in shades of blue with double xi characters amongst Eight Daoist Emblems and other precious objects,
79 x 13.8cm and 81 x 13.8cm, framed and glazed (2)
Provenance: Collection of Mr John Henry Lewis Turner (1901-1962), who worked at the Chinese Maritime Customs in Shanghai in the early 20th century, and thence by descent.

Condition Report
Did not examine outside of the frames.
Silk stretched and cockled. Colours faded.
Some loose threads.
Frames with chips and surface scratches.
The larger one with a small hole.
