An ornate 30 bore Turkish flintlock holster pistol
A 30 bore Turkish flintlock holster pistol,
18th century, the lock with rain-proof pan and roller on frizzen spring, the plate, cock and frizzen overlaid with gold flowers and scroll work.
The 11.5in French barrel decorated at the breech with chiselled scroll work and mask on a gilt ground and gold overlaid with bird amongst foliage, the shallow rib terminating in further gold inlay to the muzzle
The stock inlaid with silver wirework scrolls, engraved flowers and panels, a long-spur butt cap, trigger guard, side plate and escutcheon with embossed 'Star & Crescent', dummy silver ram-rod

Historic split to stock in front of action and another in the fore-end at the muzzle end and losses of inlay to the opposing side in several places.
An old repair and sprung silver spur to the butt on one side.
Gold inlays are are in place and very decorative.

IN PERSON

ABSENTEE BIDDING
If you cannot attend the auction in person we can bid on your behalf. You can leave an absentee bid on our website.
The amount you bid should be your maximum bid. We will bid up to that limit for you, and remember you may end up paying less than your limit, depending on other bidding on the day.
You can leave an absentee bid up to half an hour before the start of any sale. Please note when we receive two or more absentee bids for the same amount, the first bid received will be the one taken.

If you would like to leave a commission bid on our website you can do so up until 30 minutes before the sale starts. Leaving a commission bid through sworder.co.uk is free for all registered clients. Once our team have entered your bid request you will receive an email confirmation. We will contact you during the sale and one of our team will bid live with you over the phone.
Please note that we normally offer this service for lots with an estimate of £500 or higher and all telephone bid requests must be received by close of business the day before the auction.

VIEWING
This is an online only auction and lots will not be available to view at our auction rooms, however, all items are comprehensively illustrated and carry detailed condition reports - see 'Condition report' at the foot of each lot description.
REMOVAL OF LOTS
We operate a booking system for collections. You must book your appointment online at least 24 hours in advance, to ensure your items are ready when you arrive:
Items will be available to collect from the day after the sale at our Stansted Auction Rooms, Cambridge Road, Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex CM24 8GE. Please select ‘Collection’ as your appointment type when booking your collection time.
FURNITURE AND CARPETS
Furniture and carpets not collected by 5pm on Friday 9th September 2022 will incur storage charges (£10+VAT administration per invoice and £2+VAT per day, per lot).
If you are collecting larger items of furniture, please ensure there are two of you to carry the items to your vehicle, as we are unfortunately unable to assist due to current government guidelines.
