Tuesday 9 – Friday 19 September
11am - 6pm Weekdays
Sworders London Gallery, 15 Cecil Court | London | WC2N 4EZ
In partnership with the London Design Festival
Sworders is proud to present a curated selection from the celebrated collection of David Rapley, featuring exceptional works in silver and gold, with a particular focus on master silversmith Stuart Devlin.
A passionate collector for over 25 years, Rapley’s interest was sparked by acquiring a rare Devlin silver-gilt egg. Recognising Devlin’s originality and imagination, he built what is believed to be one of the largest private Devlin collections in the UK, including unique and specially commissioned pieces.
Alongside Devlin, the exhibition showcases works by Christopher Nigel Lawrence, as well as Scandinavian makers such as David Andersen and Marius Hammer, reflecting the breadth and sophistication of Rapley’s collection.
Stuart Devlin (1931–2018), renowned for his distinctive biomorphic designs and innovative use of silver, gilt, and filigree, was appointed Goldsmith and Jeweller to Queen Elizabeth II in 1982. His work, ranging from intricate objets d’art to striking functional pieces, continues to be celebrated for its creativity and craftsmanship.
