The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is responsible for processing all applications for registration of items being offered for sale, that contain ivory and are exempt from the Ivory Act 2018.
Prior to placing an item that falls within the exemptions into a sale, Sworders must ensure that an application for registration has been granted, and therefore, if no evidence to the contrary is provided, will need to apply to the APHA on your behalf. This means we must provide the APHA with information about you. The information we must provide includes your name, address, contact details, and any information about the item as required by law.
The cost of registration is £28 per application, and we will redeem these costs from you, either from the sale of the item or otherwise.
