Sworders Announces Young Lives vs Cancer as its ‘Charity of the Year’

Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers is proud to announce its partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer, naming it our 'Charity of the Year' for 2024. This remarkable organisation provides vital support and resources to help children and young people (0-25), along with their families, find strength during the challenges of diagnosis and treatment.

13 June 2024

Earlier this year, our colleague Emilia Gambell nominated Young Lives vs Cancer for a company-wide vote. This charity holds special significance for her, and she will be running the 2025 London Marathon to support the cause. The charity received a record breaking number of votes, resonating deeply with our team.

Young Lives vs Cancer

When a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer, it disrupts every aspect of life for them and their family. Instead of enjoying childhood, navigating teenage years, or exploring university life, these children and young people face fear—fear of treatment, of family upheaval, of financial strain, and of mental health challenges with no clear support.

Young Lives vs Cancer provides a range of vital services, including:

Emotional Support: Helping families cope with the emotional strain of a cancer diagnosis through counselling and support groups

Practical Assistance: Offering advice on managing finances, securing accommodation close to treatment centres, and navigating the healthcare system

Financial Aid: Providing grants to help with the additional costs of cancer, such as travel expenses and essential household bills

Through various initiatives and events, we aim to leverage our platform to raise awareness and funds for a cause that impacts so many lives. All funds raised will directly support these essential services, ensuring that no family has to face cancer alone.

On Thursday 1 August, we will be hosting a Valuation Day for Antiques & Collectables in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer. Sworders specialists will be available at Knebworth Golf Club to view and value items, with a suggested minimum donation of £5 per valuation.

Thursday 1 August | 4pm– 8.30pm

Knebworth Golf Club | Deard's End Lane |Knebworth | SG3 6NL

We will welcome walk in visits throughout the event. Should you wish to arrange an appointment, or for more information, please contact events@sworder.co.uk|  01279 817778

Stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved and support this incredible cause. Together, we can help Young Lives vs Cancer continue their extraordinary work, offering hope and strength to those who need it most.
