As part of our ongoing support for The Curwen Print Study Centre, we are delighted to highlight The Art of the Poster — a vibrant selling exhibition celebrating original posters from the 1940s to the 1990s.
Featuring works by renowned artists including Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Fernand Léger, Eduardo Paolozzi, Alan Davie, Marc Chagall, Robert Indiana, and many more, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to own a piece of 20th-century art history.
Each poster sold helps generate vital commission income that supports the Curwen Print Study Centre’s ongoing educational and artistic programmes.
Many of the leading modern artists of the last century designed their own exhibition posters — often as original lithographs printed in the celebrated Parisian ateliers such as Mourlot Frères. Though posters are inherently ephemeral and pristine examples are scarce, they remain an accessible and affordable way to collect original works by artists such as Picasso and Matisse.
All pieces in the exhibition are beautifully framed, with prices starting from £650. The gallery walls are alive with colour and creativity — a true feast for the eyes.
Visitors will also discover a curated selection of archival prints from the Curwen Studio displayed in the drawers, some of which are also available for purchase. Don’t miss this chance to experience and collect these remarkable works!
