Coinciding with the launch of our new London Office in the heart of Leicester Square, Sworders are delighted to announce a very special auction to be held later in the year, celebrating the most iconic art, objects and imagery from across the capital. The sale is in the early stages of curation, however we have already secured an array of works including an atmospheric William Turner De Londe oil, circa 1830, of Waterloo Bridge, estimated at £6,000-8,000, a promotional “London” tour poster from Punk Rock band The Clash, an extraordinary group of unpublished photographs of notorious socialite Christine Keeler (The Profumo Affair), paintings of Royalty and early London Underground maps and posters.
From medieval artefacts to contemporary art, this sale will wholeheartedly embrace the spirit and style of London!

Mark joined Sworders in 2017 having previously worked for Christies for 31 years and Bonhams for 2 years. During his time at Christie’s Mark helped to devise the ground-breaking Interiors sales, moving to Bonhams in 2015 to work his magic as European Head of Decorative Arts. He now heads up our ‘Out of The Ordinary’ sales, an eclectic mix of art and antiques with a wow factor, and acts as our Kent representative.

With 20 years auction experience, Jane comes to us from Sotheby's where she was a director in the British Art Post 1850 Department and head of Scottish Art. She has a broad knowledge of British and Continental paintings and was previously head of the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist, Maritime and Sporting Art departments at Christie's.
