Homes and Interiors
Sworders’ Arms, Armour and Militaria department offers valuation and sales advice on guns, medals, swords and edged weapons, war memorabilia, military uniforms and European and Eastern armour.
The market for high-quality guns and armour in good condition, including examples by great makers such as Colt and Winchester, remains strong, however, the demand for those that have not undergone any restoration and have been kept in an environment preventing deterioration or rust are most sought after.
We see an ever-increasing demand for war memorabilia and medals that have been awarded for acts of courage and heroism, provenance in these cases is essential and can increase the prices achieved at auction tenfold.
We receive collections from enthusiasts and collectors from around the globe; a recent collection of South Indian or Sri Lankan flintlock long guns, 19th century, two with inlaid ivory, sold for £2,500 at auction.
Items are consigned for sale in the fortnightly Homes and Interiors auctions, of which there are two specialist Militaria sales each year, with rarer/high-value items consigned to our quarterly Fine Interiors auctions. Please see our upcoming auction calendar for dates.
Our specialists hold regular valuation days. Please contact us for more information, or complete the online form to enquire about the valuation of your items.
