Running from 1-10 December, this timed auction contains over 50 lots as seen in Salvage Hunters: The Restorers, a television programme in which skilled professionals work to give previously run down, forgotten and unloved vintage and antique pieces a new lease of life. With styles ranging from country house to industrial chic to mid-century modern, highlights of the sale include a pair of Irish Art Deco cinema lights, a copper and iron lightning vane and The 'Bajra' peacock head, part of the boat commissioned by the Mayor of London for the Festival of Light in 2003. Having existed for many years and often having been passed from generation to generation, choosing antique and vintage items instead of buying brand new can be the most environmentally conscious way of furnishing a home. Not only does this auction, with its selection of stylish and sustainable pieces which have been lovingly rescued and restored, allow bidders to contribute to what some believe to be the purest form of recycling , but it also offers an opportunity to own something truly unique that cannot be found in any high street store.
